La Dépendance is positioned two minutes from the edge of the forest, from where you have the choice of full day or hour long rambles, sign posted and clearly marked.
Fort l'Eculse can be reached within an hour, or the summit of the Jura within 3.
Guided walks are available at certain times of the year.

Collonges is ideally positioned on the edge of the Haut-JuraRegionalPark. The Park itself was created in 1986 with the aim of managing and ecologically developing it's unique environment which includes various types of forest, lakes, wetlands, pastureland and various geological sites.
Wildlife
The park is a haven for wildlife. Exploring here you're likely to come across a range of insects, amphibians, mammals and birds.
Mountain deer, chamois and wild boars roam the hillsides and forests, while a large number of eagles and buzzards soar high above.
It is even said that the Lynx can be found in the Jura. In 2002 it was estimated that there were 8 in the Jura region.
Birds
The park is home to over 100 species of nesting birds, including the largest of the grouse family, the spectacular capercaillie. FortL'Ecluse itself is a site well loved by bird enthusiasts and is an important stop-off on the migratory paths of many bird species, as they follow the Jura down to the valley of the Rhône. Buzzards, Honey Buzzards, Ospreys, Sparrowhawks and Red Kites are frequent visitors.
Plants
The Park is home to over 950 species of plants, including around 15 species of orchids. The unique environmental conditions, climate and the effects of grazing have resulted in an unquestionable richness.
